And yet you get jealous when I go out with other guys

I am just another friend for you,
And yet you shower me with all your love and affection

You said we were just best friends and nothing more,
And yet I’m the first person to be informed about the happenings in your life.

You talk to me about your other girl friends,
And yet I’m the first to ride your new bike.

You are not the first person to wish me on my birthday,
And yet you come home to make me feel special.

I know you don’t respond to my nonsense prayers

When all I am bothered about is I and my life!

I know you don’t respond to my earnest prayers

When all that’s filled in my heart is deceit!

I know I have been selfish and conceited each and every day

But please listen to me today when I pray

Coz today my prayers aren’t about my life and my worries

It is about the lives of others and their miseries

Enough blood has been shed in the name of religion

Enough tears has flown for the conviction

Don’t you think its time you showed us some mercy

Coz I don’t want my land and people burning in fury

No land of mine will be under siege again

No person will lose their comrade yet again

Coz we shall join our hands

And rise to protect our mother land

Enough is enough! I would say

Give it back to them in their own way

Weapons of destruction we shall disuse

Our message of peace, you shall not ridicule

Don’t you think the time has come

For people to untie and become one

I pray to you to show us the way

To live in peace each and every day!
